The crown season 5 cast Diana-But who is playing the deceased royal icon in the new show, as well as what happened to Season 4’s Emma Corrin?
The life story of Princess Diana has yet again made headlines as anticipation for the fifth series of The Crown, which premiered today, 9 November.
The Crown, a historical drama on Netflix, is renowned for its outstanding performances and has garnered numerous Emmy Awards for both the cast and the programme since its 2016 debut. The British Monarchy, widely known as the Royal Family, is covered in detail in each season, beginning with a 21-year-old Queen Elizabeth II in season 1.
After Prince Charles’ got married to Princess Diana and the beginning of the breakdown of their relationship, we reached the year 1990 via the most newly released season.
Who plays Diana next in The Crown?
Elizabeth Debicki plays Princess Diana in The Crown Season 5, taking over for Emma Corrin as the iconic princess in the latter years of her life.

The 32-year-old Australian actress, who is most known for her work in The Great Gatsby and Tenet, said in 2020 that taking on the part was a real honour.
Who is Elizabeth Debicki?
Since being cast in the role of the new Princess Diana last year, Elizabeth Debicki has rapidly become one of the most talked-about stars of The Crown Season 5.

But the Australian actor, who brings a plethora of expertise to the royal series, is certainly not a rookie in the entertainment business.
Debicki, who was born in Paris in 1990 to an Australian mom and a Polish father, was raised around the performing arts. The 32-year-old trained to be a ballerina, following in her parent’s footsteps, but later decided to follow acting instead.
In 2008, she entered the Victorian College of the Arts, and in 2010, she earned a drama degree.
She made her feature film debut in 2011, as a secretary in the Australian comedy A Few Best Men. However, Debicki’s real rise to fame came in 2012. She shared the screen with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey MacGuire, and Carey Mulligan.
Why did Emma corrin leave the crown?
In season four of The Crown, Corrin did an outstanding job of bringing Diana to life, and she even received an Emmy nominee for it.
But the plain truth is that she was substituted to make an older actress portray an older version of Diana, which is why she is no anymore in the show.
In order to mature the characters, performers have been replaced, much like in earlier seasons.
