Meghan Markle’s podcast Archetypes has debuted its first episode.
In 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced a collaboration between Spotify and their production company Archewell Audio. Archetypes comes under the Archewell Audio’s umbrella.
The first guest on Meghan Markle’s podcast Archetypes, which launched on Spotify on Tuesday afternoon, is tennis champion, Serena Williams. Serena is Meghan’s close friend who also attended her wedding.

The first episode’s executive producer, Meghan, spoke to Williams about the unfair treatment women get when they are referred to as “ambitious.” The duo also talked about how this would affect the rest of their life.
In their conversation, Meghan and Serena discussed ambition and how it is a bad, horrible word when it comes to women. Serena analysed how men and women are perceived differently as she thought about ambition.
When Meghan was 11 years old, she described being “furious” with a Procter & Gamble commercial that targeted women only with its dishwashing soap advertisement. The corporation adjusted the language in the advertisement as a result of her “letter writing campaign” to influential people. The campaign included the then-First Lady Hillary Clinton.

Serena also discussed how she manages the demands of being a mother to her 4-year-old daughter Olympia while maintaining her tennis profession. She flashed back to when Olympia fractured her wrist the night before the French Open.
She stated, “I somehow managed to win, but I was so emotionally spent and just like so emotionally drained that it was, it was crazy.”
During one of their conversations, they brought up the topic of maintaining a composed attitude in public while dealing with personal difficulties.

Markle reflected on the time in 2019 when she and Harry were on a trip to South Africa. Soon after arriving, they left four-month-old Archie with the staff so they could attend a formal meeting. After they finished the engagement, they were told that Archie’s room caught fire. They hurried back home, and according to Meghan, “everyone’s in tears” including Archie’s nanny Lauren. Even after the horrifying incident, they had to give another official engagement.
The podcast is in collaboration with Spotify, Gimlet, and Archewell Audio.
