Earthshot prize 2022 prince William- The 15 finalists for the 2022 Earthshot Prize have been announced. Prince William launched this ambitious programme to assist in addressing some of the earth’s most critical environmental concerns.
A talented collection of businesspeople and creative thinkers are driving fifteen innovative solutions to the most pressing environmental problems our earth is facing.
At the second-annual Earthshot Prize presentation, the fifteen Finalists will compete for a £1 million prize.
Five winners will be announced in Boston the following month, and each will receive £1 million to support their initiatives.
The future of the world has “many reasons to be optimistic,” Prince William noted when making the announcement.
He called the individuals on the prize’s selection, which is currently in its second edition, “innovators, leaders, and visionaries.”
Prince William stated, “The innovators, leaders, and visionaries that make up our 2022 Earthshot Finalists prove there are many reasons to be optimistic about the future of our planet. They are directing their time, energy, and talent towards bold solutions with the power to not only solve our planet’s greatest environmental challenges, but to create healthier, more prosperous, and more sustainable communities for generations to come.”
He continues, “I am so excited to celebrate these fifteen Finalists and see the five Winners of The Earthshot Prize announced in Boston, the hometown of President John F. Kennedy, who shared The Earthshot Prize’s belief, that seemingly impossible goals are within reach if we only harness the limitless power of innovation, human ingenuity, and urgent optimism.”
Five “Earthshots”—simple, powerful, and idealistic objectives defining the world we want to create for future generations—are the focal point of the Earthshot Prize.
The five categories are clean our air, protect and restore nature, build a waste-free world, fix our climate, and revive our oceans.
Amongst winners from the last year were an initiative in Costa Rica that compensated locals to rehabilitate natural ecosystems and a portable device produced in India that turns agricultural waste into fertiliser.
Likewise, this year’s Earthshot prize 2022 Prince William winners will be revealed on December 2 at the MGM Music Hall in Boston.
