Karl Stefanovic on Meghan Markle- When Today host Karl Stefanovic made a subtle jab at Meghan Markle’s emotions during the Queen’s burial, co-host Allison Langdon was left speechless.
Karl made the speculative remark while talking to royal photographer Chris Jackson on Tuesday morning (AEST), despite a picture showing Meghan wiping away tears.
According to him, pictures of members of the royal family can be misinterpreted as to whether or not they are crying.
“There’s been lots of photos around and interpretations of photos and reading into photos that may or may not be true,” he reasoned. “There’s a couple of Meghan, um, with a tear running down her face – apparently – and also even one of Princess Charlotte that everyone was saying she was crying, and we don’t know if it was true or not.”
When Karl Stefanovic commented on Meghan Markle, Ally, his co-host, was stunned when Karl used the word “allegedly” to refer to Meghan as she awkwardly smiled before glancing at him.
Stefanovic had been criticising Meghan earlier has well and he mocked her when she compared herself to Nelson Mandela in a magazine interview. He made fun of her comment where she said that people of South Africa danced in the streets when she married Harry just like when Mandela was freed from prison. Stefanovic mocked her saying ‘I think [Meghan is] probably a little misunderstood, don’t you reckon?’
Karl Stefanovic returned to Australia on September 21 after attending the Queen’s funeral in London.
