Where is Robin Doan now- On September 30, 2005, 10-year-old girl Robin Doan dialled 911 and gave the operator the following frightening information: “There was a shootout in my house. And I don’t know who’s dead. And I’m scared half to death.”
What happened to the Doan family?
In the late hours of the night, a lone shooter entered Robin Doan’s isolated farmhouse in Pampa, Texas, and shot and killed her family as they slept. Robin was also targeted by the killer, but he failed.
Three hours after hearing Levi King kill her entire family, Robin Doan, who was terrified, dialled 911 on the house’s cordless phone. Doan requested her mother from the 911 operator, but Robin would never see her mother again.
Police found 15 shell casings inside the house, aligning with Robin’s memory of 15 gunshots. With an AK-47 in hand, Levi broke into the home and shot Robin’s stepfather, Brian Conrad, three times. He fired twice at the household dog, Molly before turning the rifle on Doan’s expecting mother Michell, who was yelling and firing her six times.
While laying in her bed, Robin Doan was the target of the assassin’s gunshots. The 10-year-old was not hit by the bullet, instead, it hit a plastic drawer by her nightstand. Before getting out of bed and calling 911, Robin pretended to be dead for two and a half hours.

While remaining unmoving, Robin listened to the sounds outside. Levi was rummaging around in the kitchen when she heard it, but she wasn’t sure if he had left. After a few hours, she made the decision to leave and do something.
“I played dead for two-and-a-half hours. I was like, I can’t just lay here. I need to do something. …And so I just proceeded out the door and started dialing 911,” Doan narrated to CBS News.
The bodies of murdered people Orlie McCool and his daughter-in-law Dawn were discovered 500 miles away in Pineville, Missouri, a day before Robin Doan’s family was murdered.
At the scene of the McCool incident, investigators discovered shell casings that matched a stolen firearm. Authorities were notified by a local father that his son, Levi King, had broken into his house and taken many firearms.
Levi King had served time in jail for burglary and arson. He received a 14-year sentence, but he only spent a little over three before being transferred to a halfway home.
The King family’s residence was stocked with weapons and ammunition, and it was ornamented with ceremonial knives.
Investigators discover that Levi King left Missouri and travelled to Pampa, Texas, where he got off the freeway and felt the urge to kill once more, killing the McCools. He killed everyone but Robin at the Doan/Conrad farmhouse, which he picked at random.
Levi King pled guilty in Missouri on April 18, 2008, and accepted two consecutive life sentences for the McCool killings in exchange for avoiding the death penalty.
Levi King was given a life sentence without the chance of parole for the murders of Michell Conrad, Brian Conrad, and Zach Doan on October 6, 2009, by a jury. King was returned to Missouri to complete his sentence there.
